A training workshop on Quality Assurance has been organized by the Human Resource and General Administration office for Deans, Heads of Department, and Coordinators to equip them with the current best practices in Quality Assurance in the University with Professor Kofi Awusabo-Asare as the Facilitator.
Prof. Awusabo-Asare is a distinguished Professor of Population, Environment, and Development. He has been lauded for his contribution to academia and national development.
Prof. also assists Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) with Accreditation issues.
The one-day training that was aimed at building the capacity of staff took place at Dansoman Campus on 16th March 2023.
In his open remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, stated that the training has a dual-purpose by equipping staff with new ways of doing things and the component of exposure to other things.
As part of his expectations, Vice Chancellor mentioned that Heads of Departments (HODs) must know their standard and ensure compliance and must also be known for delivering results and not excuses.
He encouraged HODs to improve significantly on Quality Assurance to help realize the motto “Excellence Morality Service”.
He thanked Prof. Awusabo-Asare for having time to share his rich experience with the staff.
