Methodist University Ghana Vice Chancellor Advocates Stronger Public-Private Partnerships at Corporate Executives Awards

Over the weekend the Vice Chancellor of Methodist University Ghana, Professor William Baah-Boateng was honoured with a special invitation to the 10th edition of the Ghana Corporate Executives Awards 2025. The event, themed, “The Role of Public-Private Partnership in Corporate Governance and Economic Development,” was held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.

The Ghana Corporate Executives Awards is a highly respected event that honours outstanding achievements and contributions to the country’s development. The awards ceremony brings together distinguished guests to celebrate excellence and innovation across various sectors.

As Vice-Chancellor Professor Baah-Boateng is one of Africa’s leading Economists, celebrated for his expertise in economics of labour and labour market institutions, development policy, and institutional transformation as well as his new position as the Vice-Chancellor of the Methodist University Ghana it was befitting of him to be in attendance.

Professor Baah-Boateng delivered a speech on, “Bridging Sectors, Building Futures: Public-Private partnerships, Corporate Governance, and Ghana’s Path to Sustainable Development.” He spoke on the role of Public-Private Partnerships and their relevance to national development. Prof. Baah-Boateng further touched on the role of universities: the role they play in the Public-Private Partnership ecosystem by serving as centres of innovation and a training hub for the future workforce and outlined the pathways for strengthening Public-Private Partnerships in Ghana.

Finally, he admonished everyone to, “collaborate not only for profit but also to foster trust and cooperation that can lead to shared prosperity for our beloved Ghana.”
