
The second session of the 22nd Congregation Ceremony of Methodist University Ghana was held at the Wenchi Campus on November 23, 2024. The Acting Vice Chancellor, Rev. Professor Daniel Yao Bruce, delivered an inspiring speech, urging graduates to become problem solvers in the face of global challenges such as climate change and public health issues. He emphasized, “The value of education lies not only in acquiring knowledge, but in cultivating ethical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving, and empathy.”
A total of 96 students graduated with degrees in BSc General Agriculture, BSc General Nursing, Diploma in General Agriculture, and Certificate in Agribusiness. Academic Special Awards were given to outstanding graduates, along with plaques and cash prizes. Castro Owusu received the Best Student in Agriculture award, while Grace Napaabanaa earned both the Best Student in Nursing and the Overall Best Student awards. In her valedictory speech, Grace encouraged her peers to hold onto the values instilled during their time at the university: “Let us carry with us the values instilled in us during our time at Methodist University Ghana, [and] let us be ambassadors of positive change, using our education and skills to contribute meaningfully to society.”
Mr. Emmanuel Yakubu Ansoba, a 2010 alumnus and current lecturer, administered the Alumni Oath.

The ceremony was covered by media houses including Wenchi 24 TV, Radio West Africa, and Ewiase FM. The Methodist Church Choir, Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade & Band also added a touch of melody to the event.
