2026 Convocation Meeting

The Methodist University Ghana held its first Convocation meeting of the year on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Faculty of Business Administration Conference Room.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor William Baah-Boateng, presented a comprehensive report on the state of the university, covering academic, student, and financial affairs. He highlighted an increase in student enrolment compared to the previous year and introduced several new programs, including BSc Computer Science, M.Ed. Educational Leadership and Administration, M.Ed. Educational Assessment and Evaluation, MPhil Educational Leadership and Administration, MPhil Educational Assessment and Evaluation, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.

Professor Baah-Boateng also reported on infrastructural improvements such as the refurbishment of washrooms across all campuses, renovation of the Director’s residence at Wenchi, and repair of the staircase at the Faculty building on the Tema campus. Additionally, the University’s Governing Council has approved the construction of a floor for Executive Principal officers, which will begin soon.

Management has initiated the procurement of 1,000 new desks and plans to renovate the basement of the Faculty building into an ultra-modern lecture theatre. The Vice-Chancellor further announced that the University will host its inaugural International Conference, a significant step toward enhancing academic stature and recognition.

In his closing remarks, Professor Baah-Boateng encouraged all members to contribute their best efforts toward advancing the institution’s mission of excellence. He urged them to treat students with respect and compassion and to diligently fulfil their responsibilities.

The meeting was well attended by members of Convocation, who actively engaged in discussions on advancing the university’s goals.
