Mrs. Barbara Nana Fosuwah Opoku is a seasoned and accomplished administrator. She is currently the Head of the Human Resource Section. As a seasoned Human Resource professional, she has extensive experience in policy development and managing various Human Resource protocols including training and development, recruitment / executive search and leadership development. With a proven track record, she navigates complex challenges with finesse, empowering teams and driving success.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management both from the Methodist University Ghana. She also holds a Diploma in Bilingual Secretaryship from the Ghana Institute of Languages. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management.
Mrs. Opoku started her secondary education at Wesley Girls High School, Cape Coast where she completed the GCE Ordinary Level examinations and proceeded to Accra Girls Secondary School for sixth form and GCE Advanced Level certificate examination.
Mrs. Opoku joined the Methodist University in 1999 as a Senior Clerk and has by dint of hard work risen through the ranks to the position of Senior Assistant Registrar. As one of the pioneer staff, she has served in different capacities in various schedules and offices including the office of the Principal (now Vice Chancellor’s office), Registrar, Public Affairs and Publications Unit as well as Human Resources Division. In the academic faculties, she served in various capacities in the Faculty of Arts and General Studies, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Social Studies.
Mrs. Opoku has over (30) proposals and position papers (excluding the innumerable minutes and reports for committees and boards) to her credit. She is resilient, has a wide perspective on university administration, and finds it easy to adjust to various schedules and work environments.
Her passion lies in creating harmonious work environments, encouraging staff development and igniting potentials of every staff so that the enhanced staff productivity and innovativeness would result in the institution's growth and international recognition.
