The National Development Planning Commission has formed a technical team to be led by Professor William Baah-Boateng, Vice-Chancellor of Methodist University Ghana, to develop a strategy guiding the government’s response to global economic changes. These changes include the Iran war, shifting geopolitical alliances, and the resurgence of aggressive tariff policies linked to the Trump administration in the US. The team was officially inaugurated on May 7, 2026, by the Commission Chairman and the President’s Senior Advisor on UN Sustainable Development Goals, Dr. Nii Moi Thompson.
